Thank you so much for your interest in the Bucks County Women’s Chorus, a non-auditioned, 95-voice, all-female ensemble that performs a variety of light genre, from show tunes and standards to pop, jazz, folk tunes, spirituals, and more. Founded in 2012, we have spent 10 years honing our skills and presenting dozens of concerts throughout the Bucks County/Greater Philadelphia area. In addition, we have created a "singing sisterhood" that has provided a musical outlet for hosts of singers of all ages and levels of experience, and - as such - we have entertained thousands of audience members since our founding.
The women in the ensemble represent a variety of age groups and religious and ethnic backgrounds and hail from towns all around Bucks County and beyond, including Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties. Some have sung all their lives. Others haven’t sung in a chorus since high school or college or have never participated in a choral program. But all share a love for singing and a desire to participate in a quality ensemble.
The choir has enjoyed a successful first ten years together, singing at venues such as Pennsbury Manor, Pearl S. Buck International, Bucks County Visitor Center, Hope Lodge, Ann's Choice, Peddler's Village, Tyler Park, and a variety of other locations. In November 2018 and again in December 2019, 50 members of the ensemble entertained at the White House Holiday Open House, an amazing experience that the choir members won't soon forget! In May 2019, the group sang at the Empire State Building and 25 members of the choir were invited to perform with the 70s rock band, Foreigner, when their tour brought them to Bucks County. In July 2022, we were invited to open for Foreigner when they appeared once again at Parx Casino in Bensalem and then appeared with them on stage once again in May 2023.
In 2014, the ensemble completed its first international performance tour, which took our members to Italy and included concerts in Venice, Siena, and Lucca, and visits to Florence, Rome, San Gimignano, and other destinations. In 2016, the choir traveled to Budapest, Vienna, and Salzburg, where they performed individual concerts and participated in a choral festival, and in 2018 performed in Helsinki, Tallinn, and Stockholm, where they sang in magnificent venues with local choirs. Our 2020 trip to Greece had to be postponed due to the pandemic. However, 51 travelers made it to Ireland in May 2022, where we enjoyed magnificent sights and performed in three incredible concert venues. In 2024, we headed to Barcelona and the south of France. We'll be announcing our 2026 trip in September or October 2024.
On the various pages of this site, we've outlined what we believe are all the things you’ll want to know about the group including rehearsal location, concerts, fees, music, uniforms, and anything else we’ve deemed to be pertinent. If these pages don’t answer all your questions or if you have any inquiries or concerns about anything you’ve read, please fill out the form on the contact page or email us at [email protected].
